San-Splint™ is unique among Rolyan thermoplastic splinting materials because it has a synthetic trans-polyisoprene rubber base, which gives it a
high resistance to stretch and low conformability. These characteristics give the clinician a high degree of control when conformability is not needed.
A cooled splint is rigid and strong, making it ideal for crafting medium and large splints; fabricating splints on people who cannot cooperate; splinting
when a gravity-assisted position cannot be achieved; serial splinting; and spasticity splinting.
San-Splint resists bonding when heated in water without having a protective coating to prevent accidental self-bonding. When dry and warm, however,
it will bond to itself. When heated in a hot air oven, San-Splint becomes self bonding. San-Splint is non-toxic, latex-free and radiolucent.
